Keyword Campaigns

A Keyword Campaign is designed for mobile users to receive back a communication when they text a specific Keyword or Phrase to a specific shortcode or longcode. It is one of the most commonly used SMS Marketing Strategies today.

Example of a Keyword Campaign

We want to set up a Keyword Campaign using the 13054957665 longcode that receives the Keywordsdemo or DEMO and it will respond the user back with the message: Thanks for your message!

Opt-In and Opt-Out Campaigns

Opt-In Campaign

The Mobile Engagement Platform allows you to create programs that only require a single one-time opt-in consent from users in order to be added to the Campaign’s Subscription List.

Those users that wish to participate in the Campaign accept the opt-in, which triggers a one-time MT campaign.

The way in which a user can accept this consent can be done through a click of a button, reply to a configured Keyword, and much more!

Example of a One-time Call to Action Message

Upmobile Ski Alerts! Send us the resort name, we'll send you the snow conditions.Txt 'Mammoth' to 12345 to receive an alert for Mammoth Resort. Msg&Data Rates May Apply. T&Cs avail at www.mammoth.com/mobile

Users that would wish to receive recurring alerts, must reply back to the message with the text ‘Mammoth’.

Multiple Subscription Programs

When multiple programs are being offered to a user using the same service number (shortcode / longcode).

Example of Multiple Subscription Program Opt-In Instruction Message

“Send TONE1 to subscribe to Polytone Club, TONE2 to subscribe to Truetone Club, or ALL to subscribe to all Clubs.”

Several Subscription Keywords can be configured in the same service number (shortcode/long code).

Each Keyword is responsible for adding the user to the associated Subscription List. When the user sends the opt-in keyword, he is subscribed to the Campaign that is associated with that Subscription List.

In the previous example, there would be 3 Campaigns associated with the configured number and configured with multiple keywords:

  • STOP TONE1 → adds the user to the distribution list for Polytone Club campaign

  • STOP TONE2 → adds the user to the distribution list for campaign True Tone Club campaign

  • STOP ALL → adds the user to all the distribution lists for the associated campaigns.

Use the Keywords section to map the expected input from the user with the appropriate response.

Grouping several terms in the same Keyword lets you answer several inputs with the same response text and also simplifies Reporting.

When Reports are generated, all the inputs that match a certain Keyword are grouped using the Campaign Interprets field.
