Personalized Experiences

When using the Scratch Card Broadcast, the same Scratch Card template will be sent to all the users. However, you can use the following options to deliver unique and personalized experiences to each recipient.

There are 3 personalization options available:

  1. Plain Code: Each user receives a unique plain text code that will be displayed on top of the Discover image.

  2. QR Code: Each user receives a unique QR Code displayed on top of the Discover image.

  3. Mobile Wallet Passes: All users receive the same Scratch Card, but upon clicking on the Discover image after scratching they will all receive a unique Wallet Pass created from a template and personalized with the parameters in the CSV file.

Plain Code Scratch Cards

The Plain Code Scratch Card allows you to send a unique code to each recipient. The code will be displayed after the user discovers the final image.

Note

Please note that if you are sending a code to be displayed in your Scratch Card, your Discover image must have some free space to insert it.

For example:

756189.jpg

When sending the Scratch Card Broadcast, you must include the word code in the second parameter of the CSV file as an indicator that the third parameter is the code to be displayed in the Scratch Card.

Therefore, in order to send 4 different codes to 4 mobile numbers you must use:

Number;Type;Code
+13058382648;code;SECRETCODE1
+33681000823;code;SECRETCODE2
+13059251426;code;SECRETCODE3
+13059370023;code;SECRETCODE4

This will allow for each user to receive a different code to be displayed upon scratching the Cover image:

QR Code Scratch Cards

A QR Scratch Card allows sending a unique QR Code to each recipient.

The QR Code will be displayed after the user discovers the final image.

When sending the Scratch Card Broadcast, you must include the word qrcode as the second parameter in your CSV file as an indicator that the third parameter is the QR Code to be displayed in the Scratch Card.

Please note that the third parameter in the CSV file is automatically encoded as a QR Code by the platform (you don't need to generate any QR Codes).

Therefore, to send 4 different QR Codes to 4 mobile numbers you must use:

Number;Type;Code
+13058382648;qrcode;SECRETCODE1

This will allow for each user to receive a different QR Code to be displayed upon scratching the Cover image:

Scanning the QR Code will reveal the third parameter in the CVS for each user.

Wallet Passes with Scratch Cards

Scratch Cards are a great delivery method for personalized Mobile Wallet Passes. The process is greatly simplified by the use of pre-configured Wallet Templates.

These types of Scratch Cards work exactly the same as the others, but when clicking the Discover Image the user is presented with the option to ‘Add’ the Mobile Wallet Pass to their Wallets. The Mobile Wallet Pass is personalized for that user, meaning that the codes and values vary for each recipient.

The creation process is the same as a Plain Scratch Card - it uses the Standard Scratch Card Image Files (there’s no need to have a special discover image as with the Code and QR Code ones).

To use Wallet Passes for a Scratch Card configuration, we use the following fields in the configuration process:

  • Link URL field

  • Parameters in the .csv file when sending the Broadcast

Available Demo Wallet Pass Templates
  • Generic Store Loyalty Card (smart URL available for iOS + Android)

  • Sports Apparel Store Coupon.

  • Organic Food Store Loyalty Card

  • Sports Event Ticket

All created Mobile Wallet Passeshave the ability to use a different set of parameters depending on the generated Template.

Linking Wallet Pass Templates to Scratch Card Configuration

Follow the guided steps to create a New Scratch Card Template.

Once all the Scratch Card assets have been uploaded, you must Enter the corresponding Wallet Pass Template URL Link that will be used. Since every template generates a different kind of Wallet Pass, each one requires a different set of personalized parameters. The URL included in the link field contains some static Template information and requires the personalized elements to be included in the CSV file.

Note

When you use your own templates the parameters will differ from the ones used in these demos.

Generic Store Loyalty Card Demo

The configuration for this demo is composed of 2 personalized parameters:

  1. value is to be encoded in the QR Code

  2. displayed balance

The .csv file would have to be structured the following way in order to define these personalized fields inside of the Wallet Pass Template:

+13053749981;MYQRCODE;25

This configuration will deliver a Scratch Card with the following Mobile Wallet Passes:

The value inside of the QR Code is MYQRCODE and the Balance field is equal to 25.
